Labour-Management Relations Seminar in Czech

The JILAF and the Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions (CMKOS) of the Czech Republic held a joint "National Workshop on Industrial Relations and Productivity" from October 13th to 15th in Prague. It was JILAF’s first joint workshop in Eastern Europe.
The aim of the Workshop was to exchange the information between Japanese and Czech trade unions on the issues of economy and employment, system of industrial relations, productivity improvements and their fair distribution, CSR and so on, as well as trade union positions on these issues. The program also included a visit to the Panasonic Company and views were exchanged with the management and its trade union. Twenty-two Czech unionists participated in the seminar. Bro. Y.Takahashi, Executive Director of JILAF and Y.Murakami, Deputy Director of the Employment and Legal Affairs Division of JTUC-RENGO joined the seminar as lecturers.
The Czech participants evaluated the seminar, saying that they obtained thorough information on the situation in Japan and had a useful exchange on trade union activities. They also said that the Japanese model and experience was very useful for the participants - above all the CMKOS experts and those who take part in social dialogue at the national as well as European level.
